The Stone Breathes Twelve Times

Inside the film.

In the fictional Breath Stone Room lies a three-meter-wide basalt body with exactly twelve soft pore membranes. Each shared movement on six coral-red hand bellows fills a different chamber until the stone slowly lifts from the floor and sets back down. Installation director Fadime Roß marks each complete breath with a vermilion wooden tile and opens the purely mechanical drain valve after the twelfth cycle; the work captures neither voices, faces, nor personal motion profiles.
